Creativity is always a place of discovery.

Probably the most wonderful aspect of working in glass for me is the solitude and stillness of the creative space in the work studio.

I really enjoy the tactile aspect of working in glass, dextrously manipulating the material to connect with the creative source within – your story.  Transferring ideas into glass, however, takes a huge amount of time, effort and skill to reach even a passable end result!   I am learning to respect the power and determination of the creative spirit, to keep going and trust the process, staying true to a vision within.

Selecting colours in glass is probably the most challenging aspect for me.

Many glass artists paint on glass with exquisite designs and highly skilled forms, shapes, patterns and mark making. My preferred way of working is to allow a beautiful piece of richly coloured glass space to speak for itself and then I like to further enhance the glass with some playful fused inclusions or even imprints, textures and bubbles - so that the glass can develop movement and depth through its layers.
